Vito Gioia wines website restyling
The Challenge
Vito Gioia is a boutique winery rooted in the Sicilian landscape, with a strong identity that was not fully reflected in its previous website. The digital presence lacked a clear narrative and failed to convey the depth of the brand: its relationship with the land, the family legacy, and the artisanal approach behind every bottle.
The challenge was to rethink the entire experience and transform the website into a coherent visual story. Rather than presenting a simple product catalogue, the goal was to create a digital space capable of narrating the territory, the soil, the vineyards, and the philosophy that defines the winery.
WHAT I DID FOR THIS PROJECT
Research
I analyzed user behaviors, competitors, and industry trends to understand how to effectively present the brand and its products. This phase helped identify usability issues and define a clear, content-driven design direction.
Wireframes
I designed low-fidelity wireframes to define the site structure, user flows, and access to the reserved area. This step allowed me to validate navigation and content hierarchy before moving to visual design.
Visual Design
I created a clean and refined interface that enhances product storytelling while staying true to the brand identity. The visual system focuses on clarity, consistency, and intuitive elements to support both users and agents.
Usability Testing
I tested interactive prototypes to evaluate user flows, navigation, and content clarity across different sections of the site. This step allowed me to validate usability issues and refine key interactions before moving to final delivery.
USER RESEARCH
User research helped identify users’ needs, behaviors, and expectations through qualitative insights and pattern analysis. The findings guided design decisions, leading to clearer flows and a more intuitive, user-centered experience.
Elena
Elena faces a problem when wine descriptions focus only on technical details, making it hard to connect with the family heritage and Sicilian territory. The solution is to integrate storytelling about the family, vineyards, and local traditions.
Marco
Marco experiences a problem when navigation feels cluttered and he can’t easily find key product categories. The solution involves simplifying navigation and highlighting wine types and collections clearly.
Sofia
Sofia encounters a problem when visual presentation feels inconsistent, reducing engagement and trust. The solution focuses on a cohesive visual hierarchy and refined imagery that communicates quality and brand personality.
STYLE GUIDE
The style guide defines a clear visual system through typography, color palettes, and reusable components, shaping a clean and contemporary user experience.
It provides a solid foundation to ensure visual consistency and coherence across all touchpoints of the project.

Narrative Approach
The redesign was guided by the idea that the essence of the brand lives in its environment. I developed a visual narrative that highlights the land and the human craftsmanship at the core of the winery, using earthy textures, a vineyard-inspired palette and immersive photography to convey atmosphere and authenticity.
The storytelling focuses on territory, craft and family, expressed through spacious layouts and a calm, grounded visual rhythm.
Mobile experience
The previous mobile version felt fragmented and lacked consistency. The new experience introduces a smoother navigation flow, refined typography and a vertical narrative structure that preserves the emotional tone of the brand, ensuring coherence across all devices.
Results
The redesign elevates the website into a true brand experience, capable of communicating identity, values and place. The new digital presence offers a clearer and more contemporary expression of Vito Gioia, presenting the winery through its land, its story and its philosophy rather than solely through its products.
The result is a more immersive and authentic experience that strengthens the brand’s positioning and connection to its territory.
